Lack of transportation is consistently ranked among the top three reasons that people cannot access healthcare. Our “Provide the Ride” program is a free transportation program available to Primary Health Network patients who have no way of getting to their medical appointments. This program demonstrated immediate results: Existing patients were able to keep their appointments which increased continuity of care; and new patients, who otherwise would not have seen a doctor, were able to receive preventative and/or earlier treatment.
Today we average over 60 transports a day, five days a week – that's more than 11,000 rides each year. The "Provide the Ride" program currently operates in Primary Health Network service areas that are in great need.
