Where are They Now?

The Primary Health Foundation makes it a point to keep in touch with our past scholarship recipients to see where they are in their educational journey. Kate Horner, a 2020 scholarship recipient, has finished the first semester of her junior year at the University of Pittsburgh, where she is majoring in Psychology. This year, she has taken on a double major in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. She states that after receiving my scholarship, I became more encouraged to continue my career in the mental health field. With the pandemic still surging, we are seeing more and more mental health effects, especially within the healthcare field. Our healthcare providers are experiencing extreme mental and physical exhaustion while also being surrounded by the grief and loss of their severe COVID-19 patients. Overall, I am extremely grateful for my scholarship award and would not be as motivated to make a change as I am after receiving it!
